ALMOUTASSIM AL KILANI, a specialist in international criminal law, and attorney M. Nabil El Halabi, on Alhurra TV, discussed the forced deportation and forced return of Syrian refugees to Lebanon, and the violations by the Lebanese government of international law and conventions.
They also discussed the Lebanese government’s plan to return 15,000 Syrian refugees per month, a plan according to which the Lebanese government violates its obligations towards international humanitarian law, international human rights law, and the principle of non-refoulment as one of the customary rules, and violates the Fourth Geneva Convention, the Convention against Torture, and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
